More About Me
When I’m not training other people’s best friends, I’m hanging out with mine: a sweet Cava-poo named Jax. He is a gentle little guy who came along a year after my Lilly (angellily namesake) passed after a full life that began in Hawaii. We were both island girls at heart, having lived in Honolulu for 15 years. While living in the Islands, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from HPU, trained at the Ohana Dog School and learned from folks like Ceasar Milan (who I got to work with twice) also Jean Donaldson’s Academy for Dog Trainers, and Tamar Gellar. My practice applies the Loving Dog method of training to this day.
I live here in Southern California now and challenge you to a Hamilton soundtrack battle (after we train your dog, of course!)

What my clients are saying…
“Angela is the best! Right as she walks through the door, the training starts. Angela is very professional, sociable, and knowledgeable. You can really see that she has a caring for dogs and helps people build those necessary relationships with their dogs. She is so easy to talk to and will answer any questions you have for your dog, whether it be about the food you feed them or to get them to stop jumping up at you. I scoured the internet for the right dog trainer and at times it was overwhelming because there are so many. I am glad I found Angela and I really feel like I got the best value for my dollar. She did increase the rate a little bit due to the massive hike in gas prices, but it’s understandable and reasonable because she has to drive from client to client. Mahalo Angela, me and Kailua appreciate you for all your time and work.” — Matthew
Started training our 10-week-old Husky last Saturday and can’t wait to do some more training this Saturday. Angellily is very knowledgeable about dogs and left us with some great house training tips. After the first session our fur baby knows the commands: sit, down, come, and he knows his name. She leaves you with training tips to do throughout the week and they’re definitely working! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog trainer. — BriShay B.
Angela is an excellent Dog Trainer she helped me with my puppy gave me numerous tips & strategies on how to solve some of the most common puppy problems, with a focus on behavior and obedience. She takes her time and is a very caring trainer, explaining to me and my wife certain dog and puppy behaviors and how the animals interact with humans and what they are trying to communicate. I would highly recommend Angela to anybody that’s in need of a dog trainer. Great trainer and excellent price! Angela gets a 6 out of five stars in my book that’s how much I believe she was the right choice for our family; especially after looking for and calling numerous Dog Trainers. She made our training educational, fun, and very easy. — Keeb G.
I came to Angela after having another dog trainer from Yelp stand me up for our first training session. She assured me that she was communicative & professional. After sending her a project through an app, I answered a few questions and then she called me to talk some more. Luckily, she had a cancellation and we were able to meet the next morning. Angela came on time and even let me know when she was on her way. My family and I learned a lot. And even though we still have a lot to learn — I feel we’re in good hands. Angela knew exactly what was going on with our pups and gave us strategies to limit their barking, which was our main concern. We also appreciated her honesty that our dogs were not going to be 100% brand new, perfect pets. It’s ultimately up to us, the dog owners, to continue to apply what we learned every day to get better results. Angela is very friendly and personable. I look forward to future training sessions with her. I would definitely recommend her services to family and friends. — Janiece G.
YUKI LOVES ANGELA AND WE LOVE HER TOO!
She is the best!! We recently rescued Yuki from a high-kill shelter. He was dumped by a previous owner and had been living in the shelter for 3 months or so. After we decided to take him, we started to search for a dog trainer immediately and we found Angela!
Yuki has trust issues due to his past trauma. Just like other Huskies, he has a lot of energy and he loves to jump on people. He doesn’t know how to listen and just does what he wants.
When we talked to Angela on the phone, she asked me about Yuki’s behavior; how he acted after we got him home, if he was aggressive toward anyone or anything, how old he was, etc. Afterward, she let us know the price and made some recommendations that she thought would be best for us. She also guided us on what to do while we waited for our appointment.
When we finally met, She was able to teach not only Yuki but also us how to bond with each other. Angela’s training went step-by-step and she explained everything she did. She emphasized that the most important part is we need to change our behavior and remember to practice. She also gave us some treat recommendations for our dogs as well.
After our training sessions we practiced and thanks to Angela, Yuki stopped being too hype and stopped jumping when he sees people…WE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ANGELA AS A TRAINER! — Trang T.
Angela really accommodated what I wanted: first-hand training. I was able to get my puppy to listen to my commands better all thanks to her. Totally different doggy after only a couple of sessions. If you want to be involved in training your dog, Angela is the way to go! Thank you so much! — Emily M.
We are so thrilled to have found Angela! She is helping us work with our Maltipoo puppy and within one lesson, he has learned four commands! She is kind and gentle with the puppy, and makes the experience fun for both dog and pawrents. Every action is done with care and concern for the puppy to be his best self. We could tell that she just loves what she does! Angela is also very knowledgeable about dogs overall, providing insight into how to train them based on breed and temperament. We cannot wait for more lessons! — Danielle P.
FAQs
- Do you train older dogs?
- Yes, older dogs can sometimes develop behaviors over time that need correction. I can help!
- Do I need to be present for my dog training sessions?
- Yes. Dog training is just as much about you as it is about your dog.
- How long are your sessions?
- Each session lasts for an hour.
- Are the sessions back to back? Or is there time between?
- I find it most effective to hold one session per week. This allows ample time in between sessions for you and your dog to practice what you’ve learned, and soon enough to build on what I’ve taught in the prior session.
- Can I pay my session balance all at once?
- Sure!
- Can I pay for each session individually?
- You can. How it works is that I’ll take your payment for the upcoming session when our current session comes to an end.
- What if I need to cancel a session?
- I get it — life happens. Cancel with 24 hours notice and you won’t be charged for the session.
- What if I cancel with less than 24 hours notice?
- You’ll still be charged for the session.
- What if I need to cancel and I’m not sure when I can reschedule?
- If you reschedule your session(s) within a month’s time I’ll make it a priority to be available. But if 30 days go by and I haven’t heard from you, I can not guarantee I’ll be available and you will forfeit any fees paid.
